Elder Virginia L. Whittington

Elder Virginia L. Whittington (Elder V) is a long-time member of The Hope Church where she is affectionately called Elder “V”. Her Pastor is the Bishop Allen T.D. Wiggins.

Elder V began her walk with Christ at an early age and under the tutelage of her Pastor she accepted her call to minister the Gospel in 1999. She was licensed to preach in 2000 by the late Reverend Dr. R.W. Wiggins and Senior Pastor Allen T. D. Wiggins. She was subsequently ordained an Elder by Bishop Allen Wiggins.

Elder V is the daughter of Bro. Eugene Lewis, Sr. and the late Deaconess Ella Lewis. She was born in Greenville, Alabama and raised in Orlando. She is a proud graduate of Jones High School (Orlando); the Way of Life School of Ministry (Orlando), Valencia College (Orlando), and the University of Central Florida (B.A., M.P.A., Public Administration). In ministry, not only does she serve as an Elder at the Hope Church, but she also currently serves as the Minister of Christian Education, a Bible Study Leader, Christian Education instructor, Family Care Team Coordinator and Worship Service Coordinator. Elder V is Founder & Executive Director of A.W.’S.O.M.E. Ministries International, Inc. (Anointed Women Serving Our Messiah Eternally).

Elder V believes that “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: BUT the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” (Ps. 34: 19) With this ever present in her heart and mind, her passion is to see the people of God FREE, HEALED and WHOLE! God has anointed her ministry to affect change in the lives of His people ~ especially women (young and old). She finds exceeding great joy in encouraging the wounded, edifying the broken-hearted and empowering those who may be experiencing a season of weakness. She is a yielded vessel in waiting for her next “Divine Appointment.”

She is employed “full-time,” she is a “full-time” wife, married to the love of her life, Deacon Stacey Whittington. She is a “full-time” mother of four; and grandmother of nine. Lastly, but certainly not least, Elder V is dedicated “full-time” to the Lord Jesus Christ! She loves the Lord with all her heart and rejoices in the opportunity to serve in His vineyard. She is most inspired by the knowledge that “God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies those whom He calls.”
